Job Opportunity: Mainframe CICS System Programmer

About our customer:

Join our Global team as a Mainframe CICS System Programmer, responsible for maintaining mainframe systems´ availability, efficiency, and resilience, supported by the architectural principle of cloned infrastructure and applications.

Position: Mainframe CICS System Programmer

Location: Gothenburg

Language Requirement: English

Key Responsibilities/Duties:

• Perform mainframe CICS software upgrades, administration, and tuning to ensure system support. • Provide 24*7 technical support to minimize service outage risks. • Analyze new CICS versions for performance enhancements and cost reduction. • Monitor performance and resource utilization of CICS systems. • Recommend changes and enhancements based on technical analysis. • Diagnose and resolve problems promptly. • Participate in incident and problem management activities. • Foster collaboration across teams and vendors. • Execute project and internal initiative responsibilities. • Strengthen and develop system skills proactively. • Develop and maintain operational documentation and best practices. • Mentor junior systems programmers.

Skillset Required:

• 8+ years of experience in installing and customizing mainframe CICS environments. • Familiarity with CTG, CICSplex, and CICS Explorer. • Understanding of resource definitions and dependencies. • Experience with ISV products like Sysview, Omegamon, Fault Analyzer, etc. • Proficiency in CICS security with ACF2/RACF/Top secret. • Exposure to SMF 110 records and problem determination. • Strong problem determination skills in system and application areas. • Experience with z/OS tools like SDSF, RMF, etc. • Familiarity with IMS/MQ/DB2 administration and operations. • Knowledge of SMPE.

Added Advantage Skillset:

• Programming skills in COBOL, PL/1, C, REXX, Assembler. • Proficiency in debugging application abends. • Experience with automating CICS events and system automation tools. • Configuration and support for Critical / 24*7 applications.

Education:

Bachelor´s or Master´s degree in relevant field, or equivalent knowledge/skill level.
