Om jobbet
An electrically propelled trailer creates opportunities for longer range of electric trucks and improved fuel economy if used in parallel with diesel trucks. This leads to lower CO2 emissions in the transport sector. In addition, another use case is using the electric motor for trailer braking which improves the stability and safety of the whole combination.

Description of thesis work
The most important studies to be made is the chassis design and the packaging of all associated components on the trailer. A couple of interesting applications for this trailer would be as a construction tipper trailer and a timber trailer. Each of these trailers have their own requirements on the chassis design and construction. A simulation analysis of the static and dynamic loads on the chassis would be needed. There could be several iterations of design and simulations in order to optimize the weight and strength of the chassis. In addition, the physical positioning of these components play a vital role in the stability and performance of the truck-trailer combination.
